View of an Industrial Construction Site

Description

Author: Nurmukhammedov, Nagimbek. 1924-1986
An industrial landscape unfolds across the foreground with a wide stretch of land covered in vegetation, rendered in bold, distinct brushstrokes. Industrial buildings and a tall chimney billowing thick smoke occupy the center, while a cloudy sky fills the upper composition. Structured on a pronounced horizontal division of planes, the composition features the chimney as its sole vertical accent. The palette merges the bright pearl-gray and bluish tones of the sky with warm ochre and greenish accents in the foreground. Painted with free, impasto brushwork, the realistic execution infused with plein-air study qualities captures a sense of open space and vibrant daylight.
