An abstract symbolic composition depicts, in the lower right, a terracotta rectangular plane decorated with ornamental motifs, upon which a stylized human figure-delineated by the linear contours of the eyes and nose-rests its head from the left; above the plane, three wheels of varying sizes roll. The background is rendered in deep dark-blue and violet tones with chaotic linear strokes and pinpoint light accents. The palette is built on the contrast between the cool tones of the left section and the warm tone of the plane on the right. The expressive, multilayered texture of the paint application and the sign-like treatment of form lend the composition the character of a metaphorical parable of movement and repose, the journey and sleep.
