A genre-ethnographic composition depicting a Kazakh eagle hunter in the winter steppe. In the foreground against a light snowy background, a horseman is rendered in a three-quarter turn to the left, wearing a fur hat and a sheepskin coat; perched on his gloved right hand is a golden eagle-the central motif embodying the ancient tradition of falconry. In the distance to the right, a second, diminished figure of a rider appears, introducing spatial depth. The color palette is built on a restrained combination of cool silver-white tones of snow with the warm ochre-brown accents of the horse, sheepskin coat, and the bird’s plumage. The subtle tonal modeling and meticulous, detailed painting style align the work with the tradition of the realistic genre portrait, poeticizing national life and traditional craft.
