The panoramic mountain landscape is structured across several spatial planes: ochre and terracotta foothills in the foreground give way to a bluish-lilac mountain range dissolving into haze in the distance. The painterly manner favors large, generalized colour planes over detailed rendering, in the interest of the decorative unity of the mountain silhouettes. Warm and cool colouristic registers form a contrasting composition inclined toward generalization, while the broad, impasto brushwork emphasizes the texture of the canvas. Bottom left –
