A genre composition featuring two female figures at its center: on the left, a woman unfurling a large fan; on the right, one wrapped in a shawl adorned with large scarlet roses. The Spanish motif is clearly defined by these attributes-the fan, the mantilla, and the roses. The dynamic composition relies on intersecting diagonals and a rhythm of sweeping curves, set within a stylized space where spatial depth is minimized. The work is rendered in an expressionist style with Cubist form deconstruction: contours are generalized, volumes are faceted, and the execution is energetic and impasto, with bold, textured brushwork. The palette is rich and warm, grounded in deep red-brown and warm ochre tones, punctuated by flashes of scarlet and cool accents of blue and green.
