Kambar Batyr

Description

Author: Duzelhanov, Agimsaly. 1951-2025
A multi-figure painting featuring the epic hero Kambar Batyr on horseback at the center. Dressed in traditional Kazakh armor, a helmet, and national attire, he carries a bird of prey on his arm, with a tiger skin draped over his shoulders as a symbol of heroic strength and valor.
The background opens into a panoramic landscape filled with yurts, warrior formations, and horsemen, creating the impression of a historic battle or epic event. In the foreground, cranes rising from tall steppe grasses and a running Tazy hound add natural movement to the composition. The warm golden-ochre color palette unifies the scene in a bright, light-filled atmosphere. Rooted in the tradition of Kazakh heroic epics, the work reflects the theme of martial courage. Bottom right – signature and date; bottom right – title.
