A multi-figure composition with symbolic content. The space is arranged in layers, combining scenes of different scales: a telephone on a stack of newspapers, a bent man with bound hands, a woman with a child, a horse, and a cosmonaut in a spacesuit. The composition is fragmentary, with images conditionally unified. The color palette is restrained, based on a combination of cool grey-blue tones with subdued warm accents.
