Button

Description

The button is a circular decorative item for women’s clothing made of 960-grade silver. Its front surface is decorated with a circular arrangement of curved vegetal motifs. The ornament was produced by engraving, and the outer edge is finished with a rounded border. A loop for attachment to clothing was originally fitted to the reverse.
The button was used to fasten and decorate traditional women’s clothing. The object reflects Kazakh clothing-decoration traditions and the artistic working of silver.
