Medal “For Battle Merit”

Description

This artifact is the Soviet state decoration “For Battle Merit”, formerly owned by K. Kyraubayeva. Instituted in 1938, the medal was awarded for distinguished military service and combat merit in the defense of the Soviet Union. The obverse bears the inscriptions “USSR” and “For Battle Merit” above crossed rifle and sabre motifs, while the reverse is engraved with the unique serial number 1714870. The medal is suspended from a standard pentagonal mount with a gray moiré ribbon. It is an authentic example of the Soviet award system and an important historical object reflecting the military heritage of the twentieth century.
