Description
A pair of silver jewelry clasps of a complex diamond-shaped form, consisting of two interconnected elements. The edges of the plates are decorated with carved ornament. The lower part of each element carries nine leaf-shaped pendants suspended from delicate chains made of linked rings. Stone inserts are set into the central diamond-shaped plates, with one surviving red-colored stone. The leaf-shaped pendants are further decorated with engraved and carved motifs. The composition combines stamping, chainwork, and hand assembly of the pendant system. The object is of artistic and historical-ethnographic interest as an example of traditional Kazakh jewelry craftsmanship of the 20th century.
