Women’s Silver “Hearth” Ring

Description

A massive women’s silver ring with a wide, ornamented shank. An elongated vertical front plate is mounted on the broad surface of the ring. The central plate is decorated with five circular elements resembling concentric circles or eye-like motifs. The area surrounding the central section features an amulet-like ornamental composition, while the edges of the shank are finished with granulation, emphasizing the relief and geometric structure of the object. The object is of historical-ethnographic and artistic interest as an example of traditional women’s jewelry of the 20th century.
