Description

The silver svatya ring dates to the 19th century and represents a substantial example of traditional Kazakh jewelry. The ring has a double shank and a large, elaborately shaped bezel characteristic of status-oriented ornaments. The front section contains four settings-two oval and two leaf-shaped-filled with pink glass. The sides of the settings are decorated with amulet-like motifs executed in granulation, while the edge of the bezel features a wavy ornament. The shank is covered with a dense stamped pattern. The object weighs 126 g and is well preserved, with stable metal, clearly defined decoration, and no visible deformation.
