Description
This exhibit is a winter military headgear (ushanka hat) that belonged to A. Zhumadilov, a “Halyk Kaharmany” (National Hero) of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Designed to protect the head and ears from the cold, the round-shaped dark blue hat is made of thick, warm fur. A gold-colored metal cocarde is affixed to the center of the front, symbolizing military affiliation. The center of the cocarde features a five-pointed star set against a blue circular background. Black straps are attached to the top of the headgear for fastening.The inner lining bears the manufacturer’s label: “Almaty region
MEDIATEX-N Email: www.mediatex-n.kz. 2018”. The artifact served as an integral component of the winter uniform worn by military personnel.
