Chapan of Kazybek Biy

Description

The chapan is made from golden brocade of yellow-green color, with patterns resembling pitchers, bird wings, and plants. The chapan is wide, with a wrap-around design, and has a “stand-up” collar.
Dating: 17th – 18th centuries.
Material: brocade, cotton.
Technique: handwork.
