Portrait of the People’s Artist of the USSR Kulyash Baiseitova

Description

Author: Fedorova, Elena. 1926-1967
A captivating three-quarter-length portrait of a young dark-haired woman seated on a sofa and facing the viewer. She is depicted in a delicate lilac-pink dress with a light shawl draped over her shoulders; her serene poise and gentle smile lend an air of unstudied naturalness to her appearance. To the left, set against a neutral grayish-ochre wall, is a segment of an oval mirror. The pale palette rests on subtle harmonies of lilac, rose, cream, and golden tones. Soft, fluid brushwork alongside delicate color modeling of the face and garments evoke a sense of lightness and effortless naturalness.
