Portrait of the Deputy of the Almaty City Council U. Tekimbayeva

Description

Author: Duzhnov, Anatoly. 1942-2003
A portrait of a young woman executed with dense, decorative brushwork and a resonant colour scheme. The sitter has short dark hair and wears a blue jacket over a dark turtleneck, with a small pin on the lapel. The background is rendered in vertical colour bands, creating an effect of a radiant space around the figure. The face is modelled with soft, coloured reflections. The colour scheme is built on the contrast between the warm background and the cool tones of the clothing, united by the overall sonority of the palette. Top right - signature.
