Portrait of a young woman in three-quarter view, the head turned slightly toward the viewer. The model wears red clothing and a red headdress, which together with the warm golden-ochre background builds a palette based on gradations of red, orange and ochre. The painting is executed in a free, expressive manner with dense impasto brushwork; the modelling of the face is constructed through the contrast of warm, lit planes and shadowed greenish-olive ones.
