A winter landscape study centering on a pavilion with a wide canopy, before which stands a figure holding ski poles. On the right rises a tree trunk with snow-covered branches, while the outlines of a grey fence are indicated in the foreground. Executed in pastel on toned paper in a sketch-like manner, the work features forms rendered with swift strokes and patches of color, without detailed finishing. The color scheme is built on closely related greyish-blue and ochre tones, among which the yellow patches of lit windows and the blue accents of the pavilion’s structure stand out.
