Description

Author: Ismailov, Aubakir. 1913-1999
A mountain landscape depicting a summer pasture - a zhailau at the foot of the majestic Khan-Tengri. In the foreground, on a grassy plateau, a grazing herd is set alongside small figures of people and horsemen. Beyond them opens a deep gorge with a winding river, drawing the viewer’s eye into the depth of the scene. The gorge is framed by steep rocky slopes, while in the distance, the monumental silhouette of Khan-Tengri dominates the surrounding landscape, its contours softened by an atmospheric haze. The color palette relies on the contrast between the rich green, ochre, and reddish-brown tones of the foreground and the cool blue, lilac, and pale pink shades of the distant mountains. Soft tonal and color transitions create an effect of aerial perspective, enhancing the sense of spatial depth. The canvas’s vertical format, the ascending compositional rhythm, and the sweeping scale of the mountain ranges lend the landscape a majestic, epic resonance.
