A mountain landscape depicting a deep gorge with a rushing river flowing along its bottom. The composition relies on the contrast between massive rocky slopes and the winding river channel. The swirling waters draw the viewer’s eye from the foreground into the depth of the gorge, enhancing the sense of spatial depth. In the foreground, on a rocky knoll covered in yellowed grass, stand the figures of two men beside a hunted gazelle. Beyond them rise steep riverbanks and majestic red-brown rocks glistening in the sunlight. As the gorge deepens, it gradually narrows, leading into snow-capped mountains bathed in bluish-violet hues. The distant mountain ranges melt into an airy haze, fading from view. The color palette is based on a rich interplay of ochre, red-brown, and golden colors paired with cool blues, muted purples, and whites. The bold contrast of light and shade, along with warm and cold tones, reveals the complex terrain and powerfully conveys the depth and scale of the mountain expanse.
