Spring

Description

Author: Ismailova, Gulfairus. 1929-2013
A landscape capturing the moment of nature awakening after winter. In the foreground of the horizontally extended composition, a wide stream flows past thin trunks of young trees, through which the contours of an open field emerge in the background. A cool, bluish-grey palette, enlivened by subtle warm tones of earth and vegetation, conveys the crispness of early spring. The delicate, almost translucent brushwork and a spontaneous, lively manner of painting reveal direct observation of nature.
