A genre composition - the interior of a yurt with a reclining figure of a grey-bearded man in the foreground, at his head scattered sheets of paper and an inkwell with a quill. The space is built along a diagonal, enclosed by the lattice of the kerege, creating the effect of an intimate, enclosed interior. The colouring is contrasting and rich: deep maroon-brown and ochre tones coexist with cool greenish-yellow and lilac accents. The painterly manner is dense and generalized, with a broad, confident brushstroke and emphasized plasticity of forms. Top right – signature and date.
