A floral still life conceived as a plein-air, decorative composition. A bush of full-blown roses in soft pink tones is set against the greenery and blue of a garden. The work is sustained in an Impressionist key with decorative inflections. The handling is free and spirited - an impasto, dynamic brushstroke with an active texture of the paint layer. The colour scheme is built on the pairing of warm pink-carmine accents of the flowers with the cool blue-green tones of the background; form is modelled through colour and the contours are deliberately blurred, creating a sense of vibrating air and living movement.
