Bitpes

Description

Bitpes is a type of wall hanging (tuskiiz) decorated with infinitely repeating patterns. The main part is made of red velvet. Along the edges of the fabric, double wavy lines shaped like the letter “П” (P in Cyrillic) are embroidered using light yellow and yellow threads. Inside these lines, using the technique of hand embroidery (bızkeste), are patterns called “tulga müyiz,” “tumarshe,” and “kögeris,” embroidered with threads in red, yellow, green, and raspberry colors. The upper red edge is adorned with shiny round appliqués. Fabric ties are sewn on both sides. The bottom edge of the piece is unhemmed and left open.
