Medal “For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”

Description

M. S. Matrosov’s Medal “For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”. The medal is circular in shape. The front features a bust of I. V. Stalin in military uniform of the USSR Marshal. The upper edge of the medal has the inscriptions: “Наше дело правое”, and below: “Мы победили”. On the back, along the edge, it says “За Победу над Германией”, with the central inscription “В Великой Отечественной войне 1941-1945 гг.” at its center and a five-pointed star at the bottom. All images and inscriptions are embossed. The medal attaches to a pentagonal mount via a hook and chain. The mount is covered in silk moiré ribbon, which features five equally spaced vertical stripes - three black and two saffron. The edges of the ribbon are lined with thin saffron stripes. The back of the mount has a pin-like hook as a fastener.
