Mengliayak Sarmenbaiuly (1880-1954) was a Kazakh poet, genealogist, and singer-dombra player.

The dombra he played is a sacred artifact symbolizing the spiritual essence of the Kazakh nation. This instrument is preserved in the museum collection and represents the traditional art of the early 20th century.
Though his name remains little known, Mengliayak Sarmenbaiuly was a worthy son of the Alash.
