Description
An original decorative ceramic brick from the Mausoleum of Aisha Bibi, built during the Karakhanid era. The brick is made of fired clay (terracotta) and is adorned with a unique carved ornament. Its front surface features an intricate interlacing pattern. The intersecting motifs symbolize infinity, a concept deeply rooted in the culture of the nomadic peoples. This ornament is known as the “endless pattern” or “eternity motif.” At the points where the patterns intersect, there are through-holes. The reverse side of the brick is convex, while the front surface is flat and decorated with the carved ornament.
