Description
This 20th-century women’s belt is a multi-component object combining a functional purpose with elaborate decorative workmanship. It consists of a durable dark-brown leather foundation fitted with at least 15 relief metal plates, including fittings and ornamental plaques. The metal elements are decorated with oval red agate inserts set in bezels with granulated borders. Their surfaces feature repoussé ornament, engraving, and areas of gilding, producing a contrasting combination of silver and golden tones. The belt demonstrates the sophisticated techniques of traditional jewelry production. Its condition is good, with the leather, metal fittings, gilding, and stone inserts well preserved.
