Description
The “Kamazhay” women’s costume is a three-piece set of national clothing consisting of a white dress, a burgundy-colored jacket, and a traditional headpiece, tübeteika. The jacket is decorated with ornamental motifs in a national style executed with gold-colored thread. The tübeteika is embellished with beads, adding decorative detail to the ensemble. The costume combines elements of traditional Kazakh clothing with factory-made tailoring characteristic of the late 20th century. The object represents the use of national ornamentation and traditional costume elements in women’s clothing of the 1990s.
