Medal “For the Capture of Vienna”

Description

The medal is circular in shape and fitted with a suspension loop and ring connecting it to a pentagonal mounting block. The block is covered with a light-coloured moiré ribbon featuring longitudinal blue stripes. The obverse bears a relief five-pointed star. The central area contains the inscription “ЗА ВЗЯТИЕ ВЕНЫ” (“FOR THE CAPTURE OF VIENNA”), arranged in three lines. The lower part is decorated with relief laurel branches. The composition combines commemorative inscription and military symbolism, referring to the capture of Vienna by Soviet forces in 1945.
