Description

The temple pendants are a type of traditional female jewellery known as shekelik. The elongated pendant consists of a central diamond-shaped element decorated with a raised stamped pattern and two large spiral-shaped rings forming the lower suspended section. A loop made of twisted silver wire is attached to the upper part. The combination of geometric and spiral forms creates an openwork and visually lightweight silhouette. Made of 925 sterling silver, the object represents traditional Kazakh jewellery of the 20th century and reflects the continuity of ornamental metalworking traditions and the decorative features of traditional female costume.
