Spheroconus

Description

Rounded lines arranged in a circular pattern are present on the lateral and lower parts of the sphero-conus. The lower part is pointed. The surface of the sphero-conus bears traces of impacts, scratches, and irregularities. One of the lateral sides has been reconstructed.
This artifact was discovered in April 2011 during archaeological excavations conducted under the direction of archaeologist D. A. Voyakin, Director of the Archaeological Expertise organization, in the area of the central market of Taraz. Sphero-conuses were widely used in antiquity for the storage and transportation of medicines, mercury, aromatic substances, and perfumes.
