Description
The silver clasp is made in a distinctive leaf-shaped form. Seven loops are arranged along the sides of the plate and were intended for attaching connecting elements or pendants. The main plate is visually divided into three sections and decorated with an amulet-like ornamental motif. The pattern consists of twisted lines complemented by delicate filigree and granulation. The use of 925 sterling silver and openwork metalworking techniques gives the object a light and refined appearance. The clasp is of artistic and historical-ethnographic significance as an example of 19th-century traditional silver jewellery combining a functional fastening purpose with decorative elements of female costume.
