The Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted the opening of the exhibition “The World of Nomads”, organised by the N.N. Palmov National Museum of the Republic of Kalmykia, Russian Federation.
The opening ceremony was attended by cultural workers, archivists, representatives of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, lecturers and students from higher education institutions, as well as residents.
The exhibition brought together more than 60 museum artefacts reflecting the historical and cultural heritage of the Kalmyk people. Among the exhibits on display are national musical instruments, items of traditional household use, elements of horse harness, works of decorative and applied art, and Buddhist religious artefacts.
The main goal of the exhibition project is to promote the cultural heritage and traditions of the Kalmyk people, to showcase the shared values of nomadic civilisation, and to foster inter-museum and cultural cooperation.
