Asel Amargaziyeva, Senior Researcher at the “Esik” State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve and PhD student at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, was invited by the Institute of Archaeology at Jagiellonian University in Kraków to make a report on the topic “Archaeological Heritage of Kazakhstan: Rock Art and the Golden Man”.
The seminar was attended by the institute’s academic staff, researchers and students. During the report, current issues in the study of rock art in Kazakhstan were examined, along with the historical, cultural and scientific significance of the Golden Man discovered in the Issyk burial mound, as well as elements of the zoomorphic style, symbolism and the worldview of the ancient population. Following the presentation, an academic discussion took place, during which the speaker answered questions from the participants.
