Museum «Ardakty Ana»
Branch of the Turkestan Regional Museum of History and Local Lore

The «Ardakty Ana» Museum is the first cultural and educational institution in Turkestan Region aimed at promoting the values of large families and motherhood. The museum was opened in December 2021. It is a structural subdivision of the State Communal Public Enterprise «Turkestan Regional Museum of History and Local Lore» and is located in the village of Aksukent, Sairam District. As the first museum in Kazakhstan dedicated to motherhood, it aims to widely promote the historical, spiritual, and social significance of the image of women and mothers in society.

The museum seeks to show deep respect for the mothers of large families in Turkestan Region and the entire southern region. Through the life stories, selfless labor, and invaluable contribution of noble mothers-whose names and exemplary life paths are a source of pride for all of us-the museum fosters in the younger generation a love for the Motherland, a sense of responsibility, and patriotism, helping them become educated and competent citizens capable of contributing to the country’s development and bright future.

The total area of the museum is 602 square meters, including 348 square meters of exhibition space.

The museum exposition consists of several thematic sections.

The section «Legendary Mothers Who Became a Symbol for Their Descendants» presents legends and sacred sites of our people’s spiritual history, featuring revered mothers such as Domalaq Ana, Karashash Ana, Kyzay Ana, Ambar Ana, and others.

The section «Hero Mothers with the Golden Star» is dedicated to mothers who gave birth to and raised 11-12 children, including honored mothers such as Zharimbetova K., Beksheytova S., Raiymbekova R., Ashurmetova U., Tuimebayeva T., Makhammadova Z., and Khaidarshikova I.

The section «Golden-Womb Mothers» is dedicated to mothers who raised state and public figures who made significant contributions to the country’s development.

The section «Mothers - the Foundation of the Nation, the Honor of the People, and the Source of Prosperity» highlights the role of exemplary mothers who raised children who achieved high results in public service, business, culture, science, education, healthcare, and sports, thereby contributing to society.

Today, the museum collection contains 739 museum objects.

In the modern era of globalization, when grandmother’s tales and a mother’s lullabies are becoming increasingly rare, and when national values and the traditions of older generations are gradually fading due to technological development, the role of the museum is especially important. The museum is dedicated to honoring the exemplary lives of revered mothers from past centuries, the recent era, and the years of independence, and to passing on their wisdom to younger generations.

The museum also honors the mothers of Turkestan Region and the entire southern area, whose names are considered sacred. It highlights the life paths and contributions to public welfare of distinguished individuals raised by these noble mothers, serving as an example for the younger generation. In this way, it fosters love for the homeland and helps raise educated, skilled, and patriotic citizens who will contribute to the country’s bright future.

Visitors to the museum’s exhibition halls can become acquainted with the lives of mothers who raised prominent state and public figures who contributed significantly to the development of Turkestan Region and the southern area, as well as their family life and experience in raising children. They will also gain inspiration from the lives and work of these exemplary women who served as the foundation of the family, the honor of the nation, and the source of prosperity.
