The S. Seifullin Historical and Local Lore Museum in the village of Uspen.

The Saken Seifullin Museum of History and Local Lore is one of the most significant scientific, educational, and cultural institutions in the Zhanaarka District of the Karaganda Region. Although the museum was officially opened in 1984, its origins date back to 1960. Thanks to the initiative and dedicated work of the prominent local historian and public figure Dilda Iztoleuov, the first artifacts and documents related to the district’s history began to be collected. This foundational effort led to the establishment of the museum, which has since become a key center for preserving the region’s historical memory.

The primary mission of the museum is to study and promote the historical and cultural heritage of the Zhanaarka region. Special attention is given to items of applied folk art that reflect the everyday life of the local population, as well as to the lives and legacies of outstanding figures in literature and culture, and to acts of heroism and patriotism shown throughout different historical periods.

The museum's collection houses unique materials and valuable artifacts related to the region’s history. Among them are:

• personal belongings, literary heritage, and photographs of Saken Seifullin;

• items of traditional applied art: embroidered carpets and household objects made of wood, bone, and leather;

• jewelry: silver bracelets, rings, hair ornaments (sholpy), pectoral decorations, and amulets;

• important archival documents and tools associated with the early development of the local railway system;

• information and photographs about prominent scientists, poets, writers, cultural and public figures who were born in or lived in Zhanaarka.

The museum's scholarly activities encompass several key areas:

• conducting historical and biographical research, and the study of folklore and oral traditions;

• expanding and systematizing the museum’s collections: collecting, cataloging, and storing exhibits in accordance with museum standards;

• organizing exhibitions and displays in line with modern museological practices, including thematic and anniversary exhibitions.

The Saken Seifullin Museum of History and Local Lore in Zhanaarka serves as a vital cultural center that acts as a spiritual bridge between the past and the present. It plays an important role in preserving the historical memory of the region, honoring the contributions of national intellectuals, and fostering patriotic and moral education among younger generations.
