Arys city museum
Arys City Historical and Local History Museum is a cultural and educational institution located in the city of Arys, Turkistan Region. Established in 2001, the museum currently functions as one of the key centers that reflect the historical, cultural, and socio-economic development of the city and surrounding region. The building housing the museum was originally founded in 1900. Throughout the 20th century, this historic structure served the field of education: it was once home to the Andreyev Seven-Year School, Railway School No. 21, the Evening School for Working Youth (from 1954), and later the Road Technical Vocational School. Since 2001, the building has been under the jurisdiction of the Arys City Museum, serving the mission of preserving historical and cultural heritage.
The main objective of the museum is to collect, preserve, research, and promote cultural and historical monuments, thereby passing on spiritual and cultural heritage to future generations. Additionally, the institution conducts scientific research related to historical and cultural processes, organizes expeditions and field trips, and contributes to the recognition of the spiritual values of various ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan. The museum operates continuously in the areas of scientific education, exhibition activities, and cultural outreach.

The Railway History Hall, which illustrates the historical significance of Arys in the development of Kazakhstan’s railway industry, detailing the formation and growth of the railway network. The hall also features dedicated sections honoring individuals who contributed significantly to the railway sector.
The “Great Patriotic War and Arys Station” Section highlights the strategic importance of the Arys railway junction during World War II, the labor of the home front, and the heroism of soldiers.
The Hall of Glory is dedicated to local heroes and prominent labor figures from the region.
The “Cultural Workers” and “Honored Educators” Sections showcase the contributions of individuals to the development of education and the arts in Arys.
The Agricultural History Section presents the achievements of the agricultural sector and the life stories of labor heroes.
The Ethnographic Hall displays artifacts related to the traditional lifestyle and craftsmanship of the Kazakh people, including household items, yurt models, and examples of folk arts and crafts.
The Nature Corner is an educational exhibit dedicated to the local flora and fauna of the region.
The museum's collection contains over one thousand valuable items related to the history and culture of the area. These include historical documents, photographs, manuscripts, household and ethnographic objects, as well as rare books and maps. All items are cataloged and accompanied by scientific descriptions compiled by the museum’s research staff.
