Lamp

Description

A lighting device hand-carved from stone. The center of the object is hollowed out to hold oil, into which a thin round wick was placed. Used as an oil lamp, it provided light in homes, utility buildings, and religious structures before the advent of electricity. Its simple design and natural material reflect the traditional lifestyle and craftsmanship of the Kazakh people.
