Description
A dombra belonging to Yerlan Aryn, son of academician Mukhtar Aryn. The dombra is a traditional Kazakh two-string plucked musical instrument with a pear-shaped body and a long neck. Its body is decorated with traditional Kazakh ornaments. The dombra is one of the principal symbols of Kazakh musical culture and was used for performing kuy compositions and folk melodies. The exhibit holds historical, cultural, and memorial value.
