Portrait of Abai

Description

Portrait of Abai Kunanbayev - a great Kazakh poet and thinker. Abai is depicted in traditional Kazakh clothing: a dark green chapan with a blue collar. Under the chapan, he wears a black vest with buttons and a white shirt. On his head is a dark green tubeteika. His hair is short with some gray at the temples, and he has a small mustache and beard. The lower part of the painting contains the artist’s signature and the year 2002.
