Pottery fragment

Description

Fragments of a ceramic jug. The exhibit consists of several fragments of a medieval ceramic jug (a large main piece and smaller fragments). The vessel was crafted on a potter’s wheel and fired at a high temperature. The walls of the object are of medium thickness, with traces of finishing and smoothing visible on both the inner and outer surfaces.
These ceramic fragments serve as important archaeological material allowing researchers to study pottery production, vessel-making technologies, and the domestic culture of the city of Koylyk in the 12th century.
