The painting “The City is Being Built” is a multi-figure composition capturing a group of female builders against the backdrop of an urban facility under construction. The foreground depicts women in work clothes and headscarves leaning against the railing of scaffolding, which unites them in a common rhythm of labor and expectation of change.
The bright, saturated turquoise-greenish palette and soft accents of blossoming branches in the foreground emphasize the atmosphere of spring, renewal, and creative energy.
