The Earth Awakens

Description

Author: Frolova, Valentina. 1915-1990
A landscape capturing a steppe field during agricultural work. In the foreground, golden tufts of feather grass alternate with plumes of white smoke rising from bonfires. Extending beyond them are broad lilac-purple swathes of plowed land receding into the distance, with the subtle silhouette of a tractor visible on the horizon. The palette is built on an expressive interplay of golden-ochre and reddish-brown shades with rich lilac, violet, and blue tones. Broad, fluid brushstrokes and the contrast of large color masses heighten the painterly expressiveness of the scene. At the lower right - signature and date.
