A portrait of a girl in an interior: in the center of the composition, a young girl in a sleeveless white dress sits on her knees, her head slightly tilted and turned three-quarters to the left. The figure is frontally rendered and balanced, set against the green plane of the floor and a light-toned, vertically falling curtain in the background. The style is generalized and painterly, free of minute detail, featuring a soft modeling of forms and fluid, dynamic brushwork. The color scheme builds on a restrained harmony of light pearl-grey and pinkish tones of the background with the cool green of the floor, against which the dark hair and white dress stand out. The image is imbued with a mood of quiet focus and delicate childlike innocence.
