Description
Author: Nurzhumayev, Oralbek. 1938-1996
A genre composition depicting a scene of family life. At the center, seated on an ornamented red carpet and facing the viewer, is a woman in a kimeshek holding a spindle. To her left is a girl in a blue dress; to her right, a boy in a taqiya (traditional cap) turned away from the viewer, accompanied by a girl holding a bowl. The backdrop features generalized hills with a yurt and horses. Figures are arranged symmetrically around the central motif, forms are treated in broad planes, and the spatial solution remains stylized. The palette relies on warm ochre-red harmonies, set in contrast with the white mass of the kimeshek and the blue accents of the attire.
