Kazakh Waltz. Portrait of People`s Artist of the Kazakh SSR Shara Zhiyenkulova

Description

Author: Ismailova, Gulfairus. 1929-2013
This work belongs to a portrait series honoring Kazakh theatrical and musical icons, capturing the People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR, Shara Zhienkulova, in the full swirl of dance. The composition emphasizes the dynamic fluidity of her spinning figure, traced through the graceful lines of her raised arms and the rhythmic movement of her billowing skirt. Her ethnocultural identity is underscored by her traditional attire-a gold-embroidered kamzol vest and a feather-adorned taqiya cap. A vibrant decorative style, coupled with the striking contrast between a luminous yellow background and rich tones of rose, magenta, and purple, fills the portrait with a radiant, celebratory energy.
