Description
Author: Yesirkeyev, Kuanysh. 1947
A symbolic composition combining figurative and industrial motifs. In the foreground is a male half-figure depicted from behind, with his head turned in profile. On his head is a structure composed of a hoop and rods. Behind him stands an electricity pylon, while in the right corner, the bare frame of a yurt is visible. In front of the figure are several crumpled objects and two upright kobyz instruments. The middle ground features industrial structures, power lines, and spoil heaps. The space is conventionally constructed, forms are rendered in a generalized manner, and color is applied in large, local planes. The color palette is dominated by a rich red, complemented by dark green, black, and ochre tones that heighten the composition’s tense emotional resonance.
