Landscape

Description

Author: Yesirkeyev, Kuanysh. 1947
The landscape depicts a waterfront with utility structures. In the foreground lies a sandy shore dotted with sparse, yellowish grass. To the left are a wooden post, part of a flat-roofed house, and an outbuilding. The middle ground is occupied by the calm surface of the water, beyond which stretches the opposite shore with low, rolling hills. The composition is built upon the alternating rhythm of horizontal planes. Forms are rendered in a generalized manner, while the color palette combines ochre, green, bluish-turquoise, and grey tones, creating a serene chromatic harmony.
