The abstract-geometric composition is built on the rhythmic alternation of planar vertical forms in maroon, grey, black, and ochre tones, devoid of representational specificity. In the lower left corner there is a yellow-ochre accent, and in the lower right, a small red form. The palette is rendered in a unified, closely related range of earth tones with pinpoint colour contrasts. The dense, relief-like paint texture and the sharply rhythmic construction of the planes complete the triptych’s composition, lending it the character of a generalized, ruined landscape motif.
